BA1 Radio is a non-profit organisation which has been running since March 2019. The team are already preparing to raise funds to take them through to 2021 with a target of £5500. They have a fundraising week which runs from 27th July to 4th August 2019 during which they aim to raise as much as they can towards the running of the station for the next year. The week will consist of events including a Quiz Night and a raffle giving supporters the chance to win some incredible prizes, from a hotel getaway to cinema tickets and vouchers - all donated to BA1 Radio by local businesses. Our volunteers will also be presenting a 24 hour radio show from Friday 2nd August at 6pm during which there will be prize giveaways for supporters. Sponsored Walk On Saturday 27th July, BA1 Radio volunteers will head to Pen y Fan - the highest peak in south Wales. The team will walk 4 miles, climbing 2000 feet! Why should you donate? Bath hasn't had a station for quite a few years, so when the opportunity came about I wanted to be involved and become a presenter, as well as learning the technical side of things. Because of my learning disability it has helped me progress as a person and also improved my social skills, meeting new people. It has given me a whole new group of friends and a hobby I thought would be impossible to get in to. I also have spina bifida and am paralysed from the chest down. The great thing about BA1 Radio is that it is fully accessible for me. I feel comfortable, welcomed and supported here." Quiz night Join us for our Quiz night which promises to be a challenging and exciting event! Your Team must include no more than five people. We are asking for a donation of £50 per team to participate with a cash prize and hamper (courtesy of Taste of Bath) up for grabs. When and where? Thanks to the generosity of Widcombe Social Club, we are able to host our event in their Waterside room.There will be a fully licensed bar, music direct from the BA1 Radio studio and five rounds of quiz questions to answer! With organisations from across Bath attending, the event will also be a great opportunity to network. Where does your donation go? It costs £15 per day to run BA1 Radio. As a non-profit organisation all money raised goes directly to the running of the station, from paying the rent to licensing and equipment upgrades. Why should you take part? We hope that this event will be a great opportunity to share with you the great work we are doing at BA1 Radio for local people as well as helping us raise the funds we need to keep the station running through to 2021. 24 Hour Radio Broadcast Volunteer presenters at BA1 Radio will be broadcasting a live 24 hour radio show from 6pm on Friday 2nd August. During the show there will be many opportunities for supporters to be in with a chance of winning a collection of prizes donated by local organisations to BA1 Radio.
