Gladys Yegon's Education
Kenya
01 Nov 2019 - 31 Mar 2020
Gladys is dedicated to contributing to her community so that those that are younger than her will not have to endure the pain that she has gone through. She lost her father 10 years ago, and is endured incredible pain from this loss. She now volunteers with orphans in her community, providing clothing, food, and mentorship so they feel like they have someone that cares about them. She wants them to feel like they have a home.
Although her father was the main breadwinner of the family, her mother has stepped up as a subsistence farmer to pull some of the weight of the family. Still, they do not have enough funds to pay for Gladys’ school fees. Therefore without the sponsorship from Kapadia Education Foundation, Gladys is likely to be forced to drop out of school.
Once she graduates from school, she plans to share the importance of education with those that are orphaned in her community so that they can have a bright future.
