Ferdinand is in the final year of his two year online Masters degree in Occupational Health, Safety Environmental and Risk Management. He remarks, “It has always been my fervent ambition to develop my professional capacity so as to significantly contribute in the health and safety sector growth in my country. The rate of industrial accidents in my country is so high which is due to lack of professionals in the field, thus a call for concern. This course is suitable and adaptable to my professional needs, institutional exigencies and a dear need in my country.” His motivations include “to acquire knowledge which will enable me to develop the health and safety sector which is a major challenge in my country. To get a good mastery of modern thinking and pictures in health and safety. [And] to develop a professional capacity needed to realize my most fervent wish and career objectives of becoming an occupational health and safety consultant auditor, which are highly needed in my country for effective leadership, and decision making.” He plans to set up a safety training center and train other Cameroonians and give them a better future.
