Innovative New Book Series
01 Jan 2020 - 30 Dec 2024
Pluto Educational Trust is commissioning two new series of short books, provisionally called ‘A New Global Order: China in the World Today’ and ‘The USA in Latin America and the Caribbean’.
Each series aims to develop knowledge about the pressing issues of our time expressed in short, honest and accessible books.
Your donation will support the work of the series editor, David Dabydeen. Born in Guyana in 1955, David is a novelist, academic and diplomat. He migrated to Britain as a child and went on to study at Cambridge University. He served as Professor of Postcolonial Literature at the University of Warwick from 1984 to 2017. He was Guyana's Ambassador to UNESCO from 1997 to 2010 and Guyana's Ambassador to China from 2010 to 2015. He is one of the longest serving diplomats in the history of Guyana, with most of his work done in a voluntary capacity.
