PAKISTAN FLOODS – URGENT FOOD APPEAL Everywhere we have been all people have asked for is food and financial aid. Families have lost everything. Millions of displaced people do not know whether they will have a house to return to. Donate a food pack and help provide life-saving food for a family. – In situations like floods in Pakistan one food pack might get divided into 2-3 displaced families. This is why it is always important to take part in emergency appeals because you never know, your small donation could save a life. Al Hafiz Academy Charity partners are on the ground. Heavy rains have resulted in urban and flash floods, landslides, and Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOF) across Pakistan, particularly affecting Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Sindh Provinces. As of 16th August, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reported that the floods have resulted in 635 deaths (including 233 children and 136 women). More than 72,000 houses have been partially or completely damaged, around 800 schools (600 in Balochistan alone), were damaged and 120 bridges and 2,516 km of road sections have been affected.
