The Story
Patrick is running the Edinburgh Half marathon on the 29th May 2022 to raise funds for the William Reid Primary School in Zambia. As a family friend of William's he would like to support the progression of the school in William's memory.
The three classrooms are no longer enough for the 619 children attending the school. Two years ago we had a basic structure, but with the support of William's family and friends the school now has 3 new classrooms, teachers’ houses, sports pitches and an ever growing school roll of pupils. Baraka now plans to develop the school further with an additional classroom and teacher’s house.
Baraka Community Partnerships
Baraka Community Partnerships is a small charity based in the UK and Canada with projects in Zambia and Laos.
Our main focus is to improve educational opportunities and resources for poverty stricken children and schools.We also help with water, sanitation programmes and healthcare.
We like to involve our supporters in our projects and organise regular volunteer trips to both countries.
