The Story

Hamish and Anne Reid are hiking the 96 miles of the spectacular West Highland Way between 13th and 20th May and hoping to raise more funds for the William Reid School in Zambia. We are so grateful to all family and friends who have already helped to transform the school from the most basic structure just over two years ago, to an impressive building with 3 classrooms, teachers’ house, sports pitches and a growing school roll of over 600 pupils. Baraka now plans to develop the school further with another classroom, additional teacher’s house and office and we are supporting this aim as part of a series of different fundraising projects by those close to William. We love walking and the outdoors, but this is definitely going to be a challenge! Thank you for anything you can spare.

Our projects are aimed at alleviating poverty, providing educational opportunities and healthcare support. We like to involve our supporters in our projects and organise regular volunteer trips to both countries.
