The Story
In Cambodia, there are an estimated 50,000 children living in orphanages. A third of these children are living in unregulated orphanages, exposing them to significant risks. The pandemic has the potential to vastly increase the number of children in orphanages. This project will help orphanages across the country to develop family placement programmes, whereby they can move children out of the orphanage and into local foster families where they will be nurtured to reach their full potential.
