New heating system

Eyes on Four Paws Foundation is the only non-governmental organization in Bulgaria that established in 2000 and is still developing a Bulgarian school for guide dogs for the blind and assistance dogs for people with disabilities. We breed, raise and train guide dogs for blind people and assistance dogs for people with mobility impairments, children and adults with diabetes, and children and youth with disabilities on the autism spectrum. Our guide and assistance dogs are individual helpers that we provide free of charge to Bulgarian citizens after the necessary training for working and living with the service dog. To date, we have trained and provided free of charge 91 guide and assistance dogs that work throughout the country. We have a base - property of the Union of the Blind in Bulgaria, which we have been using since 2006 as rent-free tenants. The base has a 4-acre training ground and a yard for walking the dogs, and the base itself has a total square footage of 600 square meters - divided into a dog block and an administrative block, which contains the offices and rooms for the users to stay during their training. For heating the buildings we use a gas heating system of 3 boilers. From 2007 until this spring, gas heating was a cost-effective and affordable way of heating. Given the situation with gas prices and its availability, we have to look for an urgent alternative for heating. After the studies, it turned out to be the most cost-effective and efficient to install an "air-water" heat pump system, which is connected to the existing installation, while maintaining the possibility of using gas as well.
