Trauma Team 2025 Projects

Traumatic injuries are a major cause of death and disability world-wide, particularly in Africa. Patients are often unable to access treatment due to lack of surgeons or the ability to pay for surgery. Trauma Team, made up of volunteer NHS staff, aims to reduce suffering, disability and poverty, particularly due to traumatic injuries, by undertaking surgical assessments and procedures on children and adults with the host team. Knowledge and Skills exchange takes place through working together and learning together, side-by-side with Kenyan surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, orthopaedic technicians, radiographers and physiotherapists. In partnership, the host hospital and the Trauma Team together, work towards creating and improving the Trauma service that host hospital is striving for
