The Story
Sadly, the current restrictions mean that we cannot run our Winter Shelter over the 2020-21 winter.
We remain committed to supporting people who find themselves homeless, and so we are going to purchase two Urban Emergency Sleep Pods from Amazing Grace Spaces, and will be working in partnership with Bradford charities Humankind and Hope Housing to place them so that they can be used for emergency accommodation.
This will at least allow us to provide emergency support to two individuals per night, as part of a number of other measures being put in place by Bradford Council, Hope Housing, Humankind and others.
Donations will go towards paying for two Urban Emergency Sleep pods with locations already agreed. Any funds donated above the cost of these will go towards further pods if new locations are identified, or towards our Starter Pack provision supporting people off the streets and into their own accommodation.
