Marlow Rowing Club President's Fund

Marlow Rowing Club has a proud history of developing rowers to represent their country going back to Mike Spracklen and Geoff Baker winning Gold at the Empire Games and Marlow President Steve Redgrave’s five Olympic Gold Medals. The current GB Olympic squad contains four Marlow members or alumni in the form of Sholto Carnegie, Heidi Long, Seb Devereux and Helen Glover two of whom were supported by grants from the fund early in their international journey. This year two of the club’s junior members have been selected to race for GB at Munich Junior Regatta as an important stage towards selection for the Junior World Championships in Canada in August. Rowing is a relatively expensive sport and to progress through trials the athletes have to find significant additional funds, this can be challenging for parents and athletes alike.
