The Story
IMPROVING ACCESS TO EMERGENCY HEALTHCARE IN NORTHERN UGANDA
Currently, people are coming to Alemere Medical Aid Uganda Community Health Centre on foot, on a motorcycle, or bicycle. Compared to the current situation we need to provide a significant reduction in travel time to the health centre, satisfy cultural concerns about privacy, and provide the capacity to carry quality healthcare to the patients. A small modern motorised transport is most likely to be acceptable and effective and because most obstetric emergencies occur in the home the priority role of ambulances should be to collect patients from the home to the health centre.
Motorcycles, bicycles and walking have been the most common way patients come to the health centre. However, there are concerns for comfort and safety for less physically able passengers such as pregnant women, the seriously ill or disabled, and the elderly.
We are asking for your help to contribute towards a motor-based vehicle or the ambulance that will improve comfort, safety and first aid to patients while being transported to the hospital.
Your Donation could save many lives of Mothers and Children.
