The Story
The Nourish Now Project is a food support project, offering regular nourishing meals to those in need, cooked by local volunteers - but it is also much more. We are reconnecting people and communities one meal at a time. One meal a week is nothing to most, but one meal a week can change lives and help to build stronger and more resilient connected communities.
Our volunteers have already provided over 500 home cooked meals to people in need in North London, without funding. We are on course to achieve our base target of 50-100 meals a week by the end of 2022. Our targets are modest, but the need is huge. We believe there is a real opportunity for 100s of meals to be provided weekly across the city and beyond using our service.
We need your help to maintain our current activity and allow us to grow in a sustainable manner. With your support, we can make real and immediate improvements to people's lives in our community. The Act Now Initiative
The Act Now Initiative is a charity with a clear mission – urgent community empowerment. The Act Now Initiative aims to encourage and help people to set up community-based projects, using their extensive knowledge, experience until they can become standalone schemes. The Act Now Initiative is a facilitator, motivator and provides encouragement and know-how to enable community-based ideas to become reality. This will enable communities to help themselves and provide help urgently as and when needed by creating a capacity for positive, immediate action.
